What began as a school project for California artist Dahli Coles has morphed into a hip line of bags and accessories known as THE
NEWS. Each unique piece is handmade from recycled newspapers or magazines that have been cut, sewn, and then laminated with a durable, water-resistant finish. The final product is tough, softer than you’d imagine, and downright cool. Ms. Coles designs and produces each piece in Los Angeles, with that city’s newspaper the Los Angeles Times as a common base. The New York Times and other great papers are often immortalized with this process as well as Life magazine and National Geographic to name two of the most prestigious.
