Are you looking for a unique gift for children? David DeSalvo’s “Save a Penny” Bank collection is a fun, fanciful and creative way to start a child on the road to financial success. The original piece of each series is thrown on a potter’s wheel then a plaster mold is made for future pieces of that design. Additional banks are made using the slip cast method. After the molded piece cures, features such as eyes and ears are added by hand, giving each creature their own distinct personality. Once dipped in glaze for overall color, accents such as polka dots and spots are painted on to further their individuality.
