These majestic birds are the latest clay sculpture of Stiles in clay. Once again an alternative firing technique known as saggar firing is used to give each bird their own unique look. The term saggar refers to the container that is placed with the kiln. Each clay sculpture bird is placed in a saggar and packed with wood, sawdust and and other materials. Once the kiln has been fired and the saggar removed, the unique and individual markings of each bird are revealed.

The small clay bird measures 3"w x 3.5"l x 3"h and is signed by the artist. Due to the nature of the process, colors may vary sightly from the birds shown. Priced per bird but shown as grouping with large bird sold separately.
